Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 2022

Producer’s notes

Summer was intensely hot, but the estate says Bolgheri’s microclimate kept a good balance between acidity and freshness. Autumn was cooler than average with abundant rain; spring was warmer than average, apart from a brief cold snap that naturally reduced yields; and rain in the middle of August helped the grapes ripen. Picking began in the first days of September and finished at the end of the month, moving from the younger vineyards to the lower plots and then the hillside vineyards above 300 metres.
