Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 2018

Producer’s notes

The estate calls 2018 a classic year for Sassicaia. A warm autumn and winter brought heavy rain, with floods up to February, then a Siberian cold snap with frost and snow. Late frosts and cool weather lasted into early April, after which the season returned to normal, with occasional rain helping the vines. Intense heat in July eased after rain in the middle of August, and the grapes ripened excellently, with good aromas and acidity. The wine fermented spontaneously in stainless steel.
