Château Margaux
Château Margaux is in the Margaux appellation in the Médoc, with a history of more than five centuries. It was classified First Growth in 1855 and has been in the hands of the Mentzelopoulos family since 1977.
Vineyard
The estate covers 265 hectares, with about 87 hectares of red vines and 12 hectares of white vines. Cabernet Sauvignon predominates among the reds, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The white vines are Sauvignon Blanc. The soils are mostly deep gravel.
The wines include the Grand Vin, Pavillon Rouge and Pavillon Blanc.
