Producer’s notes
A mild winter with little rain was followed by a spring without damaging frost. Rain was light but frequent through the growing season, with a wet June, and the humidity made protecting the vines demanding. Flowering ran from 31 May to 5 June without mishap. The one heat wave, from 17 to 24 August, scorched some berries, which were sorted out at harvest. The Merlot was picked from 11 September and the Cabernet Sauvignon from 22 September, and picking ended on 5 October. The château describes a fine, precise, complex wine with silky tannins. It is 41% of the estate’s harvest.
