Producer’s notes
A dry winter and a warm spring led to early budbreak and an early harvest, and the small crop gave very concentrated fruit; the winery calls the reds of the year opulent and voluptuous. It describes blueberry, blackberry and a gravelly pine forest floor with a savoury depth; aromas of cocoa powder, fresh tobacco and sage; and black liquorice, wild raspberry, white chocolate and salted caramel on the finish. The grapes come from two vineyards farmed by David Abreu, Thorevilos and Madrona Ranch. 343 cases were made.
