Peter Michael Les Pavots 2017

Producer’s notes

The 2017 season began with abundant rain that ended California’s drought. A cool spring delayed budbreak slightly, flowering was even with an average fruit set, and warmer weather than normal after the colour change sped up ripening before cooler conditions returned at harvest. The winery describes abundant aromas of ripe black fruit and jammy blackcurrant with vanilla bean, garrigue and leather; a full bodied, elegant wine with generous ripe and dried red and black fruit, a dense, round feel, supple tannins and subtle mineral notes; and blackberry, raspberry liqueur and black pepper leading to a long finish.
