Producer’s notes
A year of changeable weather. A cool, wet spring, a sunny, dry July and a dull August left the vines running late, and a lack of sun in early September pointed to a difficult vintage. An Indian summer from 14 September to 20 October turned it around, and the harvest ran from 2 to 15 October. The nose is intense and open, with red fruit, blackberry, blackcurrant and violet, then toasted notes and cedar with air. The palate opens lively, powerful and full, with silky tannins, blackberry fruit, toast and a touch of vanilla, and the finish is long and harmonious.
