Producer’s notes
Crimson. Bright cassis and strawberry on the nose, over deeper blackberry and ripe plum, with sandalwood, cedar and roasted meat. The winery found the palate a little softer and slightly shorter than usual, with tannins not yet fully knit at release, and expected the wine to mature earlier than is typical. 2007 was a year of severe drought and frost, with an uneven fruit set and yields about half the normal; the old vines on deeper clay coped better than younger blocks.
