Clarendon Hills Astralis 2011

Producer’s notes

Clarendon Hills describes Astralis as a complex, concentrated Syrah with aromas of dark liquorice, blackberry and mocha and earthy, herbal notes, gaining panforte, dark chocolate and cedar with age; more muscular than is usual for McLaren Vale, with buoyancy, energy and length. The vines were planted in 1920 at Blewitt Springs, at 220 metres on a slope facing east, in pebbly clay over ironstone.
