Producer’s notes
Intense aromas of black cherry, spice, coffee and toasty oak, with well defined flavours of mocha and blackberry. Solid tannin frames the wine, and the finish is long and lush, with no bitterness or astringency. In 1995 spring rain was followed by a cool June and July; warmth arrived in August and lasted through September and most of October. Crops were down across the North Coast and the berries smaller than usual, giving wines of deep colour and rich flavour, and Petit Verdot did especially well.
