Producer’s notes
Very dark, with perfumed plum, dark berries, bergamot, mocha and graphite and hints of spice box; concentrated and silky on the palate, with blackberry, black pepper, cocoa and curry spice, and a long, focused finish. Budbreak came earlier than in 2009, but flowering and veraison up to two weeks later; frost lasted until the end of May, and warm spells in late August and September helped ripening. The winery rates the fruit quality as exceptional.
