Château Haut-Brion 2023

Producer’s notes

After a rainy, fairly cool winter, budbreak came in the middle of March, and regular rain with warm days drove strong growth. The team kept mildew in check through careful work in the vineyard, flowering went well, and green harvesting and leaf thinning followed. The red grapes were picked from 6 September to 4 October in lasting summer weather, with excellent ripeness and concentration and no loss of freshness. The château describes a deep, dark red colour with purple glints, aromas of ripe red and black fruit with liquorice and smoke, and a palate that starts soft, builds in power and finishes long.
