Rare Champagne 2012

To Order

Producer’s notes

The house recalls a year that began badly, with winter and spring frosts, rain and hail, before the middle of July brought dry, hot weather that favoured ripening; the harvest was small but of high quality. A clear gold colour with fine, elegant bubbles. The nose is rich, opening on brioche, almond, mango, guava and bergamot, then lilac, and spice notes of honey, black tea, vanilla, white pepper, incense and smoke. The palate turns juicier and tangy, with citrus in a very silky texture, and a saline, mineral finish of exceptional length. The house says it can be enjoyed until 2044 and beyond.
