Taittinger Champagne Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut 2008

Producer’s notes

Pear, lime, white pepper and orange blossom on the nose, with hints of liquorice and toast. The palate shows white fruit, grapefruit and a touch of menthol, and finishes on a light honeyed note. The house calls it pure and intense, balancing finesse with concentration. In 2008 a long, cold winter and a mild, damp spring were followed by slow ripening in cool weather, and the harvest ran from 15 September to 10 October in sunny, cool conditions. The grapes all come from Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs.
