Rare Champagne 1988

Producer’s notes

The house describes 1988 as a year of contrasts, where record sunshine alternated with very cool temperatures, giving a ripe, opulent vintage. A golden straw colour with amber hues and a lively bead. The nose is highly perfumed: wax, honey and dried fern, then white truffle, fig and date, turning to ripe cereal refreshed by verbena. The palate has a velvety texture of cocoa and mocha, with dried fruit, hazelnut and raisin, eucalyptus and incense, and a finish of tobacco, truffle and old library, still fresh and round after thirty years. The house advises drinking it until 2030.
