Paul Hobbs describes the Nathan Coombs Estate as his flagship estate, in Coombsville in the south east corner of Napa Valley at the foot of the Vaca Mountains, named after the founder of the city of Napa. It has 67.53 planted acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot on gentle slopes, with well drained, rocky volcanic soils that the winery says bring a mineral tension to the wine.
