Thorevilos sits above the valley floor on the eastern slopes above St. Helena, between the St. Helena and Howell Mountain appellations and belonging to neither. David Abreu has planted 40 acres of vines there, in north facing rows on pebbly, well drained soils. Abreu speaks of an unmistakable wildness in the wines from these slopes, with Thorevilos as the benchmark.
