Producer’s notes
2019 was a mild, evenly paced year. Spring rain and storms in March and April delayed budbreak, and showers in late May kept the vines supplied with water. June was warm and steady, late heat spikes brought the berries to maturity, and the harvest took place in mild conditions that kept acidity. Winemaker Katie Vogt describes aromas that move between fruit and earth, with wild blueberry, black plum, cassis, saddle leather and cedar; and a layered, expansive palate of crushed ripe blackberry and Castelvetrano olive, framed by fine tannins with earth and spice. Bottled in June 2021.
