Producer’s notes
The winemaker describes a deep garnet colour; aromas that run from floral violet and sea breeze to ripe berries, cardamom, black liquorice and forest floor; and a palate of concentrated blackberry and marionberry on supple tannins, with rich dark chocolate on the finish. The winery expected the structure to carry the wine for 15 to 20 years. The grapes were picked from 16 September to 3 October 2014; 30% of the berries fermented in 500 litre oak puncheons and the rest in open steel tanks, and the wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered in August 2016.
