Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2020

To Order

Producer’s notes

A mild, wet winter gave the earliest start to the growing cycle since 1989. Constant spring rain raised the threat of mildew, and flowering came early. From the middle of June to the middle of August the weather was exceptionally hot and dry, with three heat waves, and leaf thinning was reduced to protect the bunches. Steady rain from 11 August let the grapes finish ripening, and the harvest ran from 7 to 29 September in warm conditions. The château describes a dark purple colour, an intense nose of red fruit that is ripe and fresh at once, with a spicy, woody hint, and a round, fleshy palate with a dense, juicy, almost sweet feel and elegant tannins on the finish.
