Producer’s notes
Dense, earthy, ripe black fruit, mainly blackberry and dark plum, with scents of cocoa, anise, pepper and Asian spice. The palate is rich and deeply concentrated, with boysenberry, fig, mountain spice and dark chocolate, and a long, spicy finish of savoury oak, blackberry and mineral tones. The vineyard lies on the steep slopes of Howell Mountain, at elevations above 1,800 feet. The winery expected the wine to gain dimension and character over the following decade.
