Producer’s notes
TOR describes the Melanson vineyard as lying in the heart of Pritchard Hill, 1,200 feet above the valley floor and above the fog line, where it has worked with Greg Melanson since 2013. Its 10.5 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, clones 7 and 337, were planted in 1988 on Sobrante loam, clay loam and fractured volcanic rock. Southern and western exposures bring warm days, tempered by Lake Hennessey and afternoon breezes, and TOR credits the rugged soils and the elevation for wines of density, structure and complexity.
