Domaine Ponsot
Domaine Ponsot is a historic domaine in Morey-Saint-Denis whose Clos de la Roche Vieilles Vignes is one of Burgundy's great wines, and Robert Parker awarded the 1971 100 points. Laurent Ponsot became famous for fighting fake wine when, in 2008, he stopped the auction of bottles of Ponsot Clos Saint-Denis from vintages before the domaine had made that wine. Rose-Marie Ponsot now runs the estate.
The domaine is the largest owner in Clos de la Roche and also makes Clos Saint-Denis Très Vieilles Vignes, Chambertin, Chapelle-Chambertin, Griotte-Chambertin and Corton. The approach has long been traditional, with old vines, no new oak and late picking, for wines of depth and longevity.
