Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey
Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, son of Marc Colin of Saint-Aubin, founded his own label in 2001 and became one of the most influential white Burgundy makers of his generation. His wines are prized for their tension and minerality, and his Bâtard-Montrachet and Corton-Charlemagne are the most sought after.
Pierre-Yves farms family vineyards in Saint-Aubin, Chassagne and Puligny and buys grapes from growers he works with closely. He picks early, matures the whites in 350 litre barrels with little new oak and leaves them long on their lees, for a precise, reductive style, and Puligny-Montrachet La Garenne is a premier cru favourite.
