Paul Jaboulet Aîné
Paul Jaboulet Aîné is a historic house of Tain l'Hermitage, founded in 1834, whose Hermitage La Chapelle is one of the legendary wines of France; the 1961 is counted among the greatest wines of the 20th century. Robert Parker awarded La Chapelle 100 points in 1961, 1978 and 1990. Since 2006 the house has belonged to the Frey family, owners of Château La Lagune.
La Chapelle is named after the small chapel at the top of the hill of Hermitage and blends Syrah from several of the hill's best sites, including Le Méal and Les Bessards. The house farms its vineyards organically and biodynamically and also makes Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert, Cornas and Saint-Joseph.
