Krug
Krug, founded in Reims in 1843 by Joseph Krug, makes only prestige Champagne and is the benchmark for depth and complexity. Each Grande Cuvée is numbered as an Édition and blends well over 100 wines from more than ten different years, and its single walled vineyards, Clos du Mesnil and Clos d'Ambonnay, are among the rarest Champagnes made. Krug is part of LVMH.
Every wine ferments in small, old oak barrels, and the house keeps an exceptional library of reserve wines from many years for blending. Clos du Mesnil, first made in 1979, comes from a walled plot of 1.84 hectares of Chardonnay in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The Rosé and vintage Champagnes complete the range, and each bottle carries an ID code that reveals its blend and disgorgement.
