JP Harbison
JP Harbison is the early label of Joe and Pat Harbison, who made large format Cabernets from 1998 before establishing Harbison Estate in Oakville, on the eastern benchland beside the Silverado Trail. Production is tiny, typically under 100 cases of each bottling, sold mainly by allocation.
The estate's five acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, planted in 2005, are divided into blocks named Pony Express, Trail and Horseshoe. The wines have been made by noted winemakers, including Russell Bevan and now Jean Hoefliger, for Oakville Cabernet of depth and polish.
