Guffens-Heynen
Guffens-Heynen is the small Mâconnais domaine of Jean-Marie Guffens, a Belgian, and his wife Maine Heynen, founded in Vergisson in 1976. Its Pouilly-Fuissé and Mâcon wines are regarded as the greatest of southern Burgundy, rivalling the whites of the Côte d'Or, and production is tiny.
Guffens farms steep, low yielding parcels in Vergisson and Fuissé, including Pouilly-Fuissé Croux et Petits-Croux, and makes the wines with obsessive care in the vineyard and cellar. He also runs the négociant house Verget and an estate in the Luberon.
