Françoise Bedel
Françoise Bedel is a family estate in Crouttes-sur-Marne, at the western edge of Champagne, started by Fernand and Marie-Louise Bedel in 1957 and run by their daughter Françoise since the late 1970s, now with her son Vincent. It converted fully to biodynamics in 1999 and is one of the champions of Meunier.
The estate farms about 8.85 hectares, 79% Meunier with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The wines ferment with native yeasts, partly in oak, age for at least four to five years on their lees and are riddled and disgorged by hand, with very little dosage. L'Âme de la Terre spends about ten years on its lees.
