Fait-Main
Fait-Main is the own label of Benoit Touquette, winemaker at Realm Cellars since 2011. Born in Lyon and trained in oenology in Bordeaux, he made the first Fait-Main in 2010: 100 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Beckstoffer Las Piedras vineyard in St. Helena. The name is French for handmade.
The Napa wines come from vineyards such as Las Piedras, Missouri Hopper, Sleeping Lady and Tierra Roja in Oakville, mostly on the western side of the valley, and each is made in lots of 200 to 300 cases. They are aged 16 to 18 months, about 85% in new French oak, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Since 2018 there has also been a Saint-Émilion, from the Le Châtelet vineyard.
