Emmanuel Rouget
Emmanuel Rouget is the nephew and heir of Henri Jayer, Burgundy's most legendary winemaker, who taught him his craft and passed him his vines. Rouget's Cros Parantoux, the premier cru Jayer made famous, is among the rarest and most expensive red Burgundies.
Rouget farms Échezeaux, the Vosne-Romanée premier crus Cros Parantoux and Les Beaumonts, and Vosne and Nuits-Saint-Georges village wines. He follows Jayer's methods: fully destemmed fruit, a cool maceration before fermentation and new oak, for deep, velvety wines.
