E. Guigal

E. Guigal is the house that made Côte-Rôtie world famous. Founded in Ampuis in 1946 by Étienne Guigal and led today by his grandson Philippe, it makes the three single vineyard Côte-Rôties known as the La La's: La Mouline, La Landonne and La Turque. Between them they have received more than 25 perfect scores from Robert Parker, La Mouline alone eleven.

La Mouline comes from an amphitheatre of terraces on the Côte Blonde, with a little Viognier fermented together with the Syrah, La Turque from the Côte Brune, and La Landonne, pure Syrah, from iron rich soils. Each matures for about 42 months in new oak from Guigal's own cooperage. The family owns the Château d'Ampuis and makes wines across the northern and southern Rhône.
