Didier Dagueneau

Didier Dagueneau, the wild man of the Loire, turned Pouilly-Fumé into one of the world's great Sauvignon Blancs before his death in a plane accident in 2008. His son Louis-Benjamin now runs the domaine, and its wines, led by Silex, are among the most sought after white wines of France.

The domaine farms biodynamically, with very low yields and horse ploughing, and ferments its wines in barrels and cigar shaped casks of its own design. The cuvées express different soils: Silex from flint, along with Pur Sang, Buisson Renard and Le Mont Damné in Sancerre. The family also makes a sweet Jurançon, Les Jardins de Babylone.
