Denis Mortet

Domaine Denis Mortet became one of Gevrey-Chambertin's most acclaimed domaines in the 1990s, known for wines of great concentration and polish. After Denis Mortet's death in 2006 his son Arnaud took over, and he has moved the style towards greater finesse.

The domaine holds Chambertin and Clos Vougeot, the Gevrey-Chambertin premier crus Lavaux Saint-Jacques and Champeaux, and a set of village wines from named sites in Gevrey. Arnaud uses a share of whole bunches and less new oak than his father, for wines of purity and depth.
