Dalla Valle Vineyards

Dalla Valle Vineyards was founded in 1986 by Gustav Dalla Valle, an Italian-born diving equipment entrepreneur, and his wife Naoko, on twenty acres of the eastern hillsides of Oakville in the Napa Valley, where the soils are volcanic and rich in iron. The couple had come to Napa in the early 1980s planning a hotel and restaurant, and stayed to grow wine instead.

In 1987 they planted a five-acre block of Cabernet Sauvignon named after their daughter Maya, born that year. Maya's Vineyard is counted by the estate among the most celebrated vineyard sites in America. Naoko and Maya Dalla Valle guide the winery today.
