Clos Fourtet

Clos Fourtet is a Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion, on the limestone plateau facing the town's church, owned since 2001 by the Cuvelier family. Robert Parker awarded the 2009 100 points.

Its 20 hectares lie on clay and limestone over a network of old quarries that now serve as cellars. Merlot dominates, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, and the vineyard has been farmed organically and biodynamically. The second wine is La Closerie de Fourtet.
