Clos de Tart
Clos de Tart is one of the largest grand cru monopoles in Burgundy, a walled vineyard of about 7.5 hectares in Morey-Saint-Denis first planted by the Cistercian nuns of Tart in the 12th century. It has had only four owners in nearly 900 years, and since 2017 it has belonged to the Pinault family's Artémis Domaines, owners of Château Latour.
The vines run in rows across the slope, unusual in Burgundy, and are divided into many small plots that are vinified separately. The estate is farmed organically and biodynamically, and the wine is deep and long lived, needing years in bottle. The second wine is La Forge de Tart.
