Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande
Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is a Second Growth of Pauillac, facing Château Latour and Pichon Baron, and one of the most admired estates of the Médoc for its elegant, perfumed style. It has been owned since 2007 by the Rouzaud family of Champagne Louis Roederer, who rebuilt its winery and farm buildings.
The vineyard of about 90 hectares borders Latour and runs into Saint-Julien, on deep gravel over clay. A higher share of Merlot than most of Pauillac has long given the wine its silkiness, though Cabernet Sauvignon now leads. The second wine is Réserve de la Comtesse.
