Château Lynch-Bages

Château Lynch-Bages is a Fifth Growth of Pauillac that has long performed far above its rank, owned since 1939 by the Cazes family. Jean-Michel Cazes made it one of Bordeaux's best loved names, and the family also restored the hamlet of Bages beside the château. In 2020 it opened a new winery designed by the architect Chien Chung Pei.

About 100 hectares on the Bages plateau grow mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wine is rich and generous, with the cassis and cedar typical of Pauillac, and ages for decades. The second wine is Echo de Lynch-Bages, and the estate also makes a rare white, Blanc de Lynch-Bages.
