Château Canon
Château Canon is a Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion, on the limestone plateau just west of the town, owned since 1996 by the Wertheimer family of Chanel, who also own Château Rauzan-Ségla. It is one of the stars of the Right Bank's revival.
The walled vineyard lies on thin clay and limestone over old quarries, which now serve as its cellars. Merlot leads with a significant share of Cabernet Franc, and the wine is fine and long lived. The second wine is Croix Canon.
