Charles Heidsieck

Charles Heidsieck was founded in Reims in 1851 by Charles-Camille Heidsieck, the original Champagne Charlie, who made the house famous in America. It is known for a rich, complex style built on unusually old reserve wines, and its chalk cellars in Reims are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The house ages its wines in Gallo-Roman chalk pits beneath Reims. Its non vintage blends in a large share of reserve wines averaging many years old, and its prestige cuvées, including Blanc des Millénaires and La Royale, are released after long ageing.
