Beau Paysage
Beau Paysage is one of Japan's most sought after wineries. From its vineyards at Tsugane in Hokuto, Yamanashi, at the foot of the Southern Alps, it makes wines in tiny quantities that are allocated almost as soon as they are released.
The vines are farmed biodynamically, and the wines are made with no additions at all. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir lead, with Pinot Gris made both as a white and in skin contact styles such as Ambré and Cuivré. Each bottling is named after its site or style, and every release is a small, individual expression of a mountain vineyard.
