Domaine Armand Rousseau

Domaine Armand Rousseau is the benchmark estate of Gevrey-Chambertin, and was among the first in Burgundy to bottle its own wine, in the 1930s. Its Chambertin and Chambertin-Clos de Bèze are among the most coveted red Burgundies, and its Clos Saint-Jacques is regarded as a grand cru in all but name. Eric Rousseau runs the domaine with his daughter Cyrielle, the fourth generation.

Rousseau holds some of the largest parcels of Chambertin and Clos de Bèze, alongside Mazy-Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin, Clos de la Roche and Ruchottes-Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes, a monopole. Among Gevrey's premier crus it makes Clos Saint-Jacques, Lavaux Saint-Jacques and Les Cazetiers. The style is pure and perfumed, with new oak reserved for the grand crus.
