Mayacamas Vineyards Chardonnay 2020

Producer’s notes

Mayacamas grows its Chardonnay in five blocks of its Mt. Veeder estate, between 1,800 and 2,100 feet, mostly Wente clone vines on St. George rootstock, farmed organically since 2013. Most of the fruit is pressed as whole clusters, the juice ferments in oak for two to four weeks, and malolactic fermentation is not allowed. The wine ages for 12 to 18 months in a mix of barriques, puncheons and foudres, about 10% of them new, and a further year in bottle before release.
