Producer’s notes
Ripening ran about a week late after a cool October and November, then January to March were warmer than average. Almost no rain fell while the grapes ripened, and cool weather in late April stretched the hang time beyond 220 days; the grapes were picked by hand in April, giving concentrated, ripe wines at average yields. The winery describes aromas of blackberry, black cherry and boysenberry with spice and a hint of mint, toast and chocolate from the oak, ripe, powerful tannins and a long finish.
