Producer’s notes

BOND describes Melbury as known for plush red fruit, currants and Bing cherries, scented with spice and violets, with elegance and a supple texture. The 7 acre vineyard lies on slopes north of Lake Hennessey, in the hills east of Rutherford, on ancient sedimentary soil with compressed clay, facing south, east and southeast at 348 to 522 feet. The first vintage was 1999.
